Ken L. Flaherty, Sr. Partner


Ken Flaherty is a senior operation executive and a military veteran with 25+ years of experience who specializes in operational excellence, supply chain, logistics, digital technology, culture transformation, strategic planning and implementation, and organizational management. He has leveraged his expertise in Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement, process optimization, and multimillion-dollar savings. Ken is equally adept as a C-level executive and advisor, leading cross-functional teams through critical initiatives ranging from turnaround to value chain optimization in diverse industries. Some of the clients with whom he has worked at EMS Consulting Group include HealthNet, Riverside County, ViaSat, and Vyaire Medical. 

Before joining EMS Consulting Group in 2014, he had successfully facilitated Lean transformations in the U.S. Navy, Home Depot, and St. Joseph Health.  At St. Joseph Health System, he led a blended strategic and lean deployment program that resulted in a $26M revenue growth, $18M+ in productivity savings, and $54M cost avoidance over three years. Ken is a Certified Lean Sensei Coach, Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma, and an Agile Practitioner.

 As a life-long learner and teacher, Ken serves as an Adjunct Professor of Strategy, Organizational Design, Operations, Supply Chain, and Innovation. He holds several degrees and programs from the following Universities: Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Chapman University, Southern Illinois University, Boston College, and U.S. Naval Officer Candidate School.
